TrashThat Waste Solutions Inc., operating as TrashThat ("TrashThat," "we," "us" or "our"), provides junk removal services. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, book an appointment or use our services.

Information we collect

We collect contact, booking, job and payment information; photos, communications, signatures and approval records; and website, device and usage information. Where used, we also collect call recordings and job-related location, audio or video records.

This can include your name, contact details, service address, appointment details, removal instructions, approved quote, invoices and transaction records. Website information can include your IP address, browser, device, pages visited and interactions with our website.

We receive information from you, someone authorized to arrange your service, and providers supporting your booking or transaction. Please provide only information you are authorized to share. Photos and notes are optional; avoid including unrelated sensitive information. No credit card is required to book, and full card details should not be sent through booking notes, ordinary email or text messages.

How we use information

We use this information to arrange and provide services, process payments, communicate with you, maintain records, support quality assurance, protect people and property, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Where analytics or marketing tools are used, we also use information to measure website and advertising performance and send marketing where permitted.

We collect, use and disclose personal information for reasonable purposes connected to these activities, with notice and consent where required.

Who we share information with

We share relevant information with personnel, contractors and service providers supporting our operations, hosting, storage, communications, payments and advertising. We may also share it with professional advisers, insurers and authorities for the purposes above or as required or permitted by law.

We may share relevant job information with someone you authorize to manage your booking or property. Access is limited according to the recipient's role, with appropriate safeguards for information handled on our behalf.

Our services are currently company-operated. If we introduce franchisees or other independent operators, we may share information needed to arrange and deliver your service, identifying the responsible operator and providing notice or obtaining consent where required. A business sale, reorganization or similar transaction may also involve information sharing, subject to applicable legal and confidentiality requirements.

Cookies, analytics and embedded content

With your optional tracking permission, we may save a public landing-page path, a referring website name, campaign labels and (with advertising permission) advertising click identifiers for the current browser session. When you book, these permitted details may be associated with your booking reference to measure which sources led to an appointment. Declining tracking does not prevent you from booking. Turning off a permission clears the corresponding locally saved attribution details and known Google measurement cookies that this site can access; it does not erase information already received by a provider or previously saved with a booking.

Our website uses essential technologies to operate the booking form, maintain security and support website functions. Cookies and similar technologies may also measure visits, website interactions and advertising results.

Where enabled, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure website use and advertising performance, including whether an advertisement led to a booking or enquiry. These tools may collect online identifiers, device and usage information through cookies or similar technologies. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Embedded content, such as customer-review displays, may connect your browser to another provider, which can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details and use cookies to deliver, secure and measure that content.

With your analytics permission, we also use Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits to public pages and actions such as call or text link clicks, booking steps and scroll depth. This analytics service does not use cookies. Our added interaction events contain page and step labels, not the names, contact details, addresses, notes or photos entered into the booking form. We exclude account, administration and payment pages from this added tracking and remove URL query strings and fragments. You can turn this measurement off through Cookie Settings.

We obtain consent for optional tracking where required. You can use any privacy choices offered on our website and manage cookies through your browser. Browser controls may affect website functions and do not control every form of information collection. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out tool. Contact us with questions about the technologies in use or your choices.

Photos, recordings and signatures

Job photos and other service records help us assess, plan and document the work, confirm instructions and address concerns. Where used, vehicle location records and job-related audio or video support dispatch, safety, protection of people and property, quality assurance and dispute resolution. We provide recording notices and obtain consent where required. We obtain separate permission before using identifiable customer photos or property images in public advertising.

We may record business calls for quality assurance, confirming instructions and resolving disputes. Recording is disclosed at the start of recorded calls. If you prefer not to be recorded, please contact us by email.

We collect signatures and approval records, electronically or on paper, to document agreements, confirm instructions and address disputes.

Your choices and communications

We use the information needed to handle your enquiry, booking and service, including confirmations, arrival updates, approvals and receipts. Booking does not automatically enrol you in promotional communications.

Marketing messages are sent where permitted, with applicable consent and unsubscribe options. You may unsubscribe or contact us to stop promotional messages without affecting your booking.

You may decline optional requests or withdraw consent, subject to legal requirements and reasonable notice. If information is needed to provide your requested service, withdrawing consent may affect our ability to do so.

Processing locations, security and retention

Information may be processed or stored in Canada or other countries by providers supporting our services. Information handled abroad may be accessible to authorities under local law. Contact our Privacy Officer with questions about these arrangements.

We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards appropriate to the information and restrict access according to business needs. No system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain business records, address disputes and meet legal requirements. We then securely delete or anonymize it. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about retention.

Access, correction and privacy concerns

You may contact our Privacy Officer to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about its use or disclosure, withdraw consent, or raise a privacy complaint. Please provide enough detail for us to identify and assess your request. We may verify your identity or authority before releasing or changing information.

Requests are handled within applicable legal time limits and are subject to legal exceptions, including requirements to retain certain records. If a concern remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
