How is a junk removal quote worked out?
The amount of space your items occupy is one factor. Item type, weight, access, labour and disposal requirements can also affect the price. A sofa carried down stairs and a curbside pile may require different handling even when they occupy a similar volume.
TrashThat provides a free onsite quote with no obligation to proceed. We assess the items and explain the complete price before work begins. Any additional handling or disposal charges must be explained and approved. You pay after the approved work is complete; reserving an appointment does not require a credit card.
Photos and a rough item list can help us plan. They are optional and do not replace the onsite assessment. For a larger cleanout, include an estimate of the volume and tell us about unusually heavy or restricted materials.
What should condo and apartment customers arrange?
Check your building’s move-out, elevator and loading rules before choosing a pickup time. Tell us the floor, whether stairs are involved, how the crew can enter, and where the truck can safely load. Arrange any elevator reservation or building permission required by your property manager.
Describe narrow hallways, tight corners and large furniture. Do not assume an item will fit through a doorway or elevator. Let us assess the route and any dismantling or special handling before the job is agreed.
Keep the route clear and mark belongings that must stay. Our crew can collect approved items from inside; you do not need to move heavy furniture outside yourself.
How should I prepare appliances and other items?
List what you want removed and separate it clearly from items you are keeping. Mention appliances, electronics, mattresses, heavy debris and anything requiring special handling when booking.
Ask about item-specific preparation before pickup. Appliance removal does not automatically include plumbing, electrical or gas disconnection. Arrange any required disconnection with an appropriately qualified professional and confirm the appliance is ready for safe collection.
Hazardous chemicals, asbestos, medical waste and other unsafe or restricted materials are excluded. Do not mix unknown substances into an ordinary junk pile. Describe uncertain materials before arranging collection so an appropriate disposal route can be discussed.
What happens on pickup day?
Book an available date and two-hour arrival window. This is an arrival window, not an estimate of how long the job will take. Traffic, earlier jobs, access and the amount to remove can affect timing.
The current window can remain bookable until it ends when availability allows. If you need help right away, choose an available window or call to discuss the job. Selecting the current window does not guarantee an instant arrival.
Our team contacts you before arrival, reviews the items and gives you the onsite quote. After you approve it, we complete the agreed lifting, loading and cleanup. Payment is due after the job.
If you cannot attend, contact us in advance. Unattended collection needs agreed access, a way to confirm the items and price, and payment arrangements. It should not be assumed from an online booking alone.
Should I donate, use municipal collection or book a crew?
Usable items may suit a donation organization if it accepts their condition and can accommodate your timing. Confirm acceptance directly before transporting or leaving items. Recycling and donation depend on the material, condition and receiving facility.
Municipal bulky-item programs and self-haul facilities may be suitable when you can prepare and transport items yourself. Rules, eligible materials, booking procedures and fees vary by municipality and facility. Check the current official information for your address.
A removal crew may suit a job where you need help lifting, loading, accessing an interior space or coordinating a larger clearout. Compare the full scope and complete price, rather than assuming every option includes the same labour or disposal.
