Appliance & Electronics Removal in Metro Vancouver
An unwanted appliance can be awkward to move long before it reaches the truck. TrashThat assesses accepted household appliances and electronics for collection, including fridges where accepted. Share the item details, connection status and access so we can plan the lifting and loading with you.
Tell us exactly what needs to go
List each appliance or electronic item in your enquiry. Tell us the approximate size, whether it is freestanding or built in, where it is located and whether other items are being collected at the same time. Photos are optional and can help show a tight space or an unusual appliance.
Collection is subject to item acceptance, safe handling and the receiving requirements. Fridges and other appliances may need different handling from ordinary furniture. Unusually heavy or commercial equipment needs its own review before collection is confirmed.
- Accepted unwanted household appliances
- Fridges where acceptance and handling are confirmed
- Electronics and related household items
- Mixed accepted appliances, furniture and clutter in an agreed load
Arrange disconnection before removal
Tell us whether the appliance is connected to electricity, gas, water or drainage, and ask what preparation is required for the particular item. Arrange required repair or disconnection with a suitably qualified professional before the appliance is moved.
Do not cut lines, open refrigerant components or try an unsafe disconnection to make an appliance ready. If an appliance is built into a counter or cupboard, explain that before scheduling. Confirm that the item can be safely released and removed. Arrange any utility work or changes to cabinetry separately.
Check the route from the room to the truck
An appliance in a basement or upper-floor laundry area may have a very different route from one in an accessible garage. Describe stairs, landings, doorway widths, tight turns and the distance to the loading location. Flag any steps at the entrance even if there are no stairs inside.
In a shared building, check elevator reservations and loading restrictions. Let us know if a building representative must provide access or if the appointment has to fit a permitted loading period. The crew handles lifting and loading for accepted items with safe access; you do not need to make a difficult move yourself.
Prepare belongings and personal information
Empty personal belongings from the items being removed and confirm which accessories belong with them. For electronics that store information, take responsibility for backing up and removing your personal or business data before collection. Do not leave documents, storage devices or other private belongings in a mixed removal pile.
Electronics collection is not a certified data-destruction service. If your organization requires documented destruction or another specialist process, arrange that separately before handing over equipment. Tell us about batteries, damaged components or other concerns so acceptance can be checked instead of placing an uncertain item into an ordinary load.
Review the quote before any hauling begins
Your free onsite quote considers the accepted items, their size and quantity, access, handling and disposal requirements. We explain the complete price and wait for your approval. There is no obligation to proceed, and payment is due once the approved job is complete.
Choose an available date and two-hour arrival window online. The window is the planned arrival period. The job’s duration depends on the items and access. If you need collection urgently, check the available appointments and explain any preparation still to be completed.
Receiving options depend on the item
Reuse depends on condition and whether a receiving organization accepts the appliance or electronic item. Recycling and disposal requirements also vary by material, so identify every appliance and electronic item before collection.
If you have a specific concern about an item’s destination or preparation, ask before booking. A clear item list helps us assess suitable receiving options and explain any item-specific conditions.
Common questions
Will the crew disconnect my appliance?
Disconnection and repair are not implied by appliance hauling. Describe the connections and arrange any necessary work with a suitably qualified professional before removal.
Can you remove a fridge?
Fridges can be assessed where accepted. Tell us the size, location, connection status and access so handling and receiving requirements can be confirmed.
Can you collect appliances from a basement?
Describe the stairs, turns, doorway restrictions and appliance size first. Collection depends on a safe handling assessment of the complete route.
Does electronics pickup include certified data destruction?
No. Back up and remove your data before collection. Arrange a specialist service separately if you require certified or documented data destruction.
