Furniture Removal in Metro Vancouver

Replacing a couch, clearing a spare room or moving out? TrashThat collects approved unwanted furniture from homes, rentals and businesses across our 11 service areas. Tell us what needs to go and where it is. We assess the items and access, explain the price onsite and start only when you approve.

Furniture we can assess for collection

You can request a single-item pickup or describe a larger group of furniture. A couch on the ground floor and a large sectional upstairs need different handling plans, even if they look like similar amounts of junk. Include the item type, approximate size and location so we can review the job.

Acceptance depends on safe handling and the receiving options for the item. Pianos, hot tubs, exercise equipment and unusually heavy or oversized pieces require a separate assessment. Tell us about specialist equipment or dismantling needs before booking.

  • Couches, sofas, sectionals and chairs
  • Tables, dressers and other unwanted household furniture
  • Mattresses and bulky household belongings
  • Mixed furniture loads as part of an agreed property cleanout

Inside pickup, stairs and elevators

Our crew handles lifting and loading for accepted items that can be safely accessed. You do not have to carry everything to the curb first. Tell us which floor the furniture is on, whether there are stairs and whether an elevator is available. Mention narrow doorways, tight turns, long carrying routes or parking restrictions.

For a condo or apartment, check the building’s move-out and loading rules before the appointment. Let us know if an elevator or loading space must be reserved. A photo of the item and the route can help explain a difficult job; photos are optional when booking. If a piece may need to come apart, describe that before collection so the scope can be assessed.

Before the crew arrives

Remove personal belongings from drawers, cupboards and storage sections. Decide which pieces are staying and make the remove pile clear to the person meeting the crew. If similar items are nearby, identify the exact furniture to collect before work begins.

Keep the carrying route clear where you can do so safely and tell us about anything that may affect handling. Do not attempt a risky move or dismantle a heavy item just to prepare for a quote. When the access or item condition is uncertain, describe it first and wait for the handling assessment.

How your furniture removal quote works

The quote considers the agreed items, the amount to remove, access, handling and disposal requirements. Furniture varies in bulk and weight, so a named item alone does not establish the final price. Use our pricing information as a starting point and tell us about any additional pieces.

Book an available date and two-hour arrival window for a free onsite quote. That window describes when the crew is scheduled to arrive. The time needed for the removal depends on the job. We explain the complete price before starting; you can decline the quote. Payment is due after the approved work is complete.

Reuse, recycling and disposal

Usable furniture may have a reuse option, but condition and the receiving organization’s acceptance decide what is possible. Tell us if you hope an item can be donated; we cannot promise that every couch, mattress or other piece will be accepted for donation.

Recycling and disposal depend on the material and available receiving options. Ask about any item that needs particular handling. Set aside furniture you want to keep before the removal is approved.

Common questions

Can you collect just one couch or mattress?

Yes. You can request a single-item pickup, subject to acceptance, access and scheduling. Describe the item and its location, then approve the onsite quote before work begins.

Do I have to move my furniture outside?

No. The crew handles lifting and loading for accepted items with safe access. Include stairs, elevators and difficult doorways in your booking notes so the route can be assessed.

Can you dismantle a large piece of furniture?

Describe the item and access first. Any dismantling requirement must be assessed and agreed as part of the job; it is not automatically included for every piece.

Is furniture donation guaranteed?

No. Reuse depends on condition and receiving acceptance. We can discuss the options, but cannot promise that a particular item will be donated.
