Construction & Renovation Debris Removal

After a renovation, the material in the pile matters as much as its size. TrashThat assesses suitable non-hazardous construction and renovation debris for hauling. Describe the material types, quantities and access first so we can review safe handling and receiving requirements before scheduling.

Identify the materials separately

Tell us what each part of the debris pile consists of. Suitable renovation material can be assessed for collection, but acceptance depends on the material, its condition and the available receiving route. Carpet and drywall material are not automatically accepted in every situation.

List concrete, soil and other dense material separately. Heavy debris can reach handling or vehicle limits while occupying relatively little space. Ask for a material-specific assessment before booking a heavy load, including a relatively small pile.

  • Suitable non-hazardous renovation and building debris
  • Carpet and drywall material only where accepted
  • Concrete and other heavy debris after a weight and disposal assessment
  • Already dismantled material, with its condition and access described first

Uncertain or restricted material needs review first

Hazardous, restricted and unsafe materials are excluded from ordinary hauling. If you are unsure what a building material contains, say so before scheduling. Appearance alone is not a reliable basis for treating suspect material as ordinary debris.

Drywall and other regulated or suspect materials can have receiving, documentation and handling requirements that depend on the material and destination. Ask about the actual acceptance requirements for your load before preparing it for pickup. We do not provide asbestos testing, abatement or remediation, and a debris booking is not confirmation that an uncertain material is safe to handle.

Describe the pile and keep the route accessible

Share an estimate of the amount of each material and where it is stored. Optional photos can show the pile, the approach and any stairs or narrow gates. Tell us about loose or sharp pieces, unstable stacks and anything that could affect safe loading.

Keep unrelated household items and belongings you want to retain separate from the debris to be assessed. Keep uncertain or restricted substances separate and identify them when you enquire. Confirm any separation or preparation requirements with us before doing extra work on the load.

Hauling and site work have different scopes

Let us know whether the material is inside, upstairs, in a yard or at a construction access point. Parking, carrying distance and site restrictions affect how a load can be collected. For a managed site, arrange the necessary access and identify the person who can approve the collection.

Our debris service is hauling of accepted material. It does not imply structural demolition, deck dismantling, excavation or site remediation. If material is still attached to a building or structure, explain that before booking instead of assuming the removal crew will carry out construction work.

A material-specific quote before work starts

We review material type, quantity, weight, access, handling and receiving requirements when assessing the job. Share the project scope before selecting a collection time, especially for dense or mixed debris. The crew explains the complete onsite quote and waits for your approval before starting.

A free quote does not obligate you to proceed. Payment is due after the approved work is complete. Available appointments determine scheduling, and a two-hour arrival window does not establish the time required to finish a larger debris job.

Confirm a suitable receiving option

Receiving requirements vary by material, and a facility’s resident drop-off program is not automatically a rule for a commercial hauling load. We assess each material against the applicable receiving requirements.

Describe any documentation or material information you already have when you enquire. We can then review the collection scope and any preparation or receiving conditions before pickup.

Common questions

Can you take concrete or another heavy material?

Heavy material requires a specific weight, handling and receiving assessment before collection. Describe the material and quantity; an ordinary household-junk volume price does not establish acceptance.

Do you remove drywall?

Drywall material can only be assessed where acceptance and receiving requirements are confirmed. Tell us what you know about the material first. Testing, abatement and remediation are not part of debris hauling.

Will you demolish a structure to collect the debris?

Structural demolition is not implied by this service. Describe any attached material before booking so the actual hauling scope can be clarified.

Can I book an unidentified mixed renovation pile?

Identify the materials as clearly as possible and disclose anything uncertain before scheduling. Hazardous, restricted and unsafe material is excluded from ordinary hauling.
